At Bramley Grange we assign each child a key-person and a second key-person so that when the main key-person is away there is a familiar and trusted person who knows the child well.
The duties of the Key-person are:
- To help the child to become familiar with the settling and feel confident and safe within it.
Meets the needs of each child in their care and responds sensitively to their feelings, ideas and behaviour.
Talks to parents to make sure that the child is being cared for appropriately for each family.
To keep careful records of the child’s developmental progress that needs to be shared with parents and other professionals as necessary.
To aim to have the child’s development tracker started within 6 weeks of the child starting nursery.
To aim to have the children’s assessments within 2 years and 6 months and shared this information with parents/ guardians and any other relevant parties in an informal meeting, such as parents evening.
